yarrrrrrrrr too much puzzle pirates makes deanna something something
Ya know, I'm glad ESPN is talking more about Japanese Baseball players, but I think the person who wrote this article has some skewed views... cmon, I like Nioka as much as anyone, but Takahashi would definitely do better over here than he would. And Matsuzaka? Great pitcher, but if he stays in Japan and keeps getting overused, he's going to burn out early like Choji Murata or something. Fukudome, okay, now there I agree. And why isn't my Ogasawara-sama on that list? :P
Oh, so today. Hmm. Work was ok. Many people were out. I redid some wiki pages to make more sense. Hopefully they actually do.
After work I came home and I played Puzzle Pirates for um... oh holy shit. 7 hours straight? Hmm. Well, see, my flag had a kegger at 7pm... we all got on a very big boat and hung out. We must have had like 25 people on there at one point, it was really fun. Spinn had an impromptu limerick contest, and I tied for second. My subject was "gunpowder" and here's what I came up with:
There once was a girl with a cutter
Who enjoyed cutting brigands like butter.
She yelled at them louder
And loaded gunpowder
And went BLAM BLAM BLAM into their rudder.
After that I went out on the Famous Blowfish. First I moved it back to Diamond with the help of a crewmate Lambda, and a little later we got Nykkel onboard as well. Oh yeah, so Lambda liked my outfit so much, she got one of her own:

Yeah. Then I had a great jobber Pelikan, who sadly I don't think made much money on the trip because we couldn't intercept anything while he was on. But he was gunner for his crew and really good at guns, and Lambda apparently wants to be Gunner for YHY someday (and seems to be as good at if not better than I am at it), so it was funny having all gunners. A little later I got Farren, Carl, and Parka (and a Rudder Something guy Blackteeth) as jobbers as well! It was a boat full of fun competent people for once. After Pelikan left we got in a boatload of fights with brigands and got a ton of money. Lots of good BLAM BLAM BLAM and stuff. I love pillaging. The Famous Blowfish is back at Turtle and she's gonna stay there for a while.
Farren and I sailed around a bit later. I ruled at carp. I have to go to sleep now. It's late. Eli and I are driving to Portland in like 6 hours. Whee! I'll see some of you there! :)

It's mostly that I have this psychological need to be... not necessarily the "best" at something, but to be sort of the "hey, go ask her to do ____" person. To have an identity by my capabilities. So I became the Gunner... the only person who always had priority in filling them over me was Spinn. But since you're better at them, I felt I should just defer to you, and go find something else to be really good at. YHY has very few good carpenters, so blam! I got good at carp. Then you came in and were better than me at that too... it's just frustrating when you feel like someone keeps trying to show you up, even though I'm pretty sure you didn't do it on purpose, which is why I had to rethink it like "blah, whatever, you're being a silly pirate, Jan."
I don't mind if you add me, and I'd probly add you too, but I write too much crap and don't expect anyone to actually read it.
