wow. what a GREAT day. sigh!
i haven't had this good a day in a really long time.
i'm so tired, but i want to write all about it because it was so cool. i'll try to keep it short, but we all know what that means....
first there was work. we have another guy working in our group parttime so we went to lunch with him in the cafe. was fun talking to him. did I mention that I found out Al Franken is speaking on Monday at Amazon? on my floor no less! this is so cool. 12 years ago I would have KILLED for a change to meet Al Franken and now he's just going to be down the hall from me for an hour or two. Colin and I are gonna stake it out and see if we can get free books and stuff :)
other thing that ruled about work: i got all of my code working. i even got it working with our webserver. now i can document how you write these things. i'm just so psyched about that. Guido is the man. I wanted to use my code to translate my entire weekly status report into Pig Latin but i didn't think my boss would appreciate that.
so i bussed home. eli needed a ride to deb's Talk Like a Pirate Day party, and so did wim and kylee, so i drove everyone over there, and stopped in for a bit. got to meet deb's cat, and see megan and josh all dressed up for Pirate Day. i stuck around a bit and chatted baseball and whatnot with people, and then i went to IZ for bemani games!
it was SO COOL. see, so i wanted to go there, but i didn't want to go alone... Tanya had said she might go, and George had posted on the BBS, and then I sent mail to Keel, and Chris Danford, like "hey, come to IZ with me tonight," and I figured they'd be like "no, too busy" 'cause Chris has been insanely busy with work. but instead, Chris was like "Yeah! Sounds like fun!" So I was so psyched 'cause I hadn't seen him in forever. And I told Keevon he should show up but I didn't think he actually would. Well... all of those people showed up. In addition, I ran into
siliconrose as I was getting there... funny, almost EVERY time i go to IZ, she's leaving as I show up! This time she was there with Tony, who I met at IZ a few months ago with Jeremy. Weird coincidence. Anyway, Tony lent me his Microsoft card for a few minutes so I could get two timecards for the price of one. I thought I was gonna sell the second one to Tada, who had also shown up around then, but Tada had no money, so I was like "uh, ok". I used the second timecard to play several rounds of doubles, and eventually I gave it to Keevon because Keevon is kool!
OH. I GOT MY FIRST EVER HEAVY DOUBLES AA! AM-3P Double Heavy... 216/23/0/0/1. The worst is... I didn't have my memory card in the machine at that point :( But, how cool is that? *bounce*
Anyway, I played a ton of DDR EX with Chris, a whole bunch of games of Pop'n'Music, a tiny bit of KBM and drummania, several games of PPP (You know, I actually kinda *like* the routine to Feeling of Love now), and I even got in a game on the DDR solo 4th+. Kyle played some singles with me and he got insane scores, he AAA'ed Spin the Disc HVY, got 1 great on MSL HVY, and got 1 great on Dam Dariram Light Mirror Stealth (i think). Chris and I were doing all of these goofy things and spinning around and stuff, he's so *cute* when he's trying to freestyle! I can't believe how quickly 2.5 hours passed... between playing all the games and talking to people...
after IZ, we went to the Factoria Applebee's... me, Chris, Kyle, George, and Keevon. we had a lot of nachos and appetizers and stuff, and I got out my laptop and showed off Japan pictures. there wasn't really enough time though and I didn't even get through my first set. I quickly went through my Muthos/baseball ones after we ate. Then we all stood outside talking for another half hour because we're idiots that like to freeze to death.
Kyle and I are going to do a day tour of all the Seattle DDR machines at some point. it'll be cool :)
So I got home and chatted with
shandrew for a while. And now I know that I'm not going crazy, and it is SUCH a small world. And I still haven't finished cleaning the house and Stewart shows up tomorrow afternoon. but! yay! I am a happy happy girl.
