Cosmic encounter and stuff

Today started off slow. I slept in and then Eli and I walked around Greenlake. We looked at ducks and then went to Spud's for fish'n'chips. Then Eli went to buy a bike and I came home so I could drive out to Shoreline to hang out. Well, more like, I walked around the lake to get home, and in the meantime DJ called me like "we need a ride," and I was like "ok," and then I got home, got the car, drove to Bellevue, picked up DJ and not Met since he ditched us to go out with Michele or something, and headed up to Shoreline.

Hanging out at Nykkel's house was fun as always. When we got there he and Phaedrus were teaching Mwinzi how to play Cosmic Encounter, and then we ditched Cosmic and played a game of Puerto Rico, which I won, but it was fun anyway. After that Nyk went out for some pizzas and we all played DDR on his cobalt flux pads, which was fun. Then we played Cosmic for several hours. The first game, Phaedrus totally got hammered on and he kinda left after it like "blah foo on all of you", I don't even remember who won, I think it was Nykkel, because DJ was Schizoid and had some silly winning condition (I just remember I was Deuce/Spiff which was kinda dumb and I never even used Spiff). Then the four of us remaining played a second game of Cosmic... I was Ghost/Macron and we had a billion arguments over what happened to my own ghosted tokens - did they each count as one, or as four? Could I only pull one out and have it count as four? Could I pull one out and then three of other people's and have seven? Etc. We eventually kinda decided on a halfway solution... anyway, that game took forever, we went around the table three or four times at the end until Jon finally won (but in all honesty DJ should have, he kinda just blew it on purpose). After that we hung out for a while more and then I was like "OMG 1:30am", and I gave DJ a ride home and then drove home, so I'm majorly wiped out. Gotta get up earlyish tomorrow, too.

Hmm, Amber announced the qualifiers for Narrows Gamma. Singles (all Heavy): Graduation (yay), D2R (WTF THIS SONG IS SO OFFSYNC), Ordinary World (No freeze arrows, woot), 5.1.1. (no way. ugh.), Miracle (shrug), Somewhere Over The Rainbow (is this actually 7 feet?) Doubles (all Heavy): AM-3p (303 Bass Mix), Pink Rose, Silent Hill, JaneJana, Dr. Love, Sexy Planet. Whoa, I am good at all of those on doubles... how messed up :) Hopefully I'll have some time to practice a little. Probably not though.

Yeah, kind of an awkward situation. I thought I had the car up until about a day ago. Then Rumi was like, "oh shits. I have this party I'm going to- I have to have the car." So I was like, "hm, ok, well, i'll just fire off an email and make other plans not involving the car." So then in the car today I asked Rumi is she would just be travelling with Stever (who was also going to the same place as her) and if I could use the car instead. She said I could.

So, now I was stuck with, "who do I flake out on?". Since going to IZ and then seeing Robby would get me in bed long before Cosmic, I chose that instead.

I hope you guys aren't too mad. ;_;

jesus, Amber picked 6 VERY difficult 7 footers eh? i think any of those can qualify as 8s or 9s (to PA, that is)
ordinary world (fr. off) may be easy to combo, but beware the rhythm that does not match the music :O
if i were to practice, i'd do the first three, since the other three aren't *that* bad. i have almost zero doubles knowledge (=

andandandandandand

whoa! I emailed robert and I told him as soon as I found out that I wouldn't be able to go. I -never- mentioned to DJ or anyone else that I would even REMOTELY have the chance to pick up, give rides, or make it after that point. It sounds like there was a lot of assuming going on that didn't involve me, I'm sorry if you were wrong, but no one contacted me about ANY of this. If you spent money on gas and whatnot, maybe you should bug DJ about it instead of laying the blame on me. :\
