more mariners mayhem, meche manages to mangle
Today at work I was running around a lot; was on an interview loop, so I got to see my ex-homies from Intranet Tech, whee. The guys in my group invited me out to dinner and of course I had plans. I hate how that always happens :O So they were like "you gotta organize something sometime!" Hmm.. I threatened to take them all to a Mariners game. Heh.
Speaking of Mariners games, so I bought tickets to tonight's game off a coworker, and Edgars went with me to the game. Since the tickets weren't free this time, I told him he didn't have to pay me back if he didn't want to, but he insisted on buying me dinner and a program/scorecard, which is fair. And I hadn't seen Edgars in like a month so it was good to hang out and catch up on stuff. I wore my Meche 55 shirt today for good luck for him... but it was not to be :( he let up 4 runs in 4 innings and they took him out for Soriano, who got a line drive straight into his shin, but pitched 3 flawless innings anyway, despite a slight limp. Sasaki was the closer and he let up another run in the 9th, making it 5-2 instead of 4-2, bleh. BUT um, we sat in section 120, row 10... which is basically like 10 rows behind first base. I am definitely of the opinion that cool as it is to be that close, you either need to be 5 rows closer (so you get handed foul balls and whatnot) or 5-10 rows back. The angle just sucks, I couldn't see the plate without stretching my neck for half of the game. Although I could see John Olerud pretty well... hmm. :)
After the game, Edgars was bussing south and I was bussing north, so we parted. Due to timing I decided to go visit the ticket booth and the team store. I'm of course thinking of 16-game season tickets next year, maybe even with Casey and Cara, that would ROCK. But the people at the booth said "You have to call," and I didn't have the heart to say "But we tried calling earlier..." oh well. Then I went to the Mariners team store which was having a HUGE CLEARANCE SALE! Dude, that rocked :) I got a Jeff Nelson #43 shirt for $5 (woulda been $20 if I bought it 10 days ago before he was traded), an Ichiro Bear for $5 (woulda normally been $18) and a Mariners 2003 yearbook for $5 (normally $10 I think). There were other things but nothing that jumped out at me. I'm probly gonna cut up the yearbook so I can plaster pictures of Mariners players all over my room. Yeah. Anyway, after that I bussed home, and here I are. 'Night.
