yay baseball
Lessee, today I managed to do my 10am 358 bus to 72 busway to Amazon shuttle, getting me to work 35 mins after I left the house. If only this worked at any time other than 10-10:35...
I went to Uwajimaya for lunch and to stop by Kinokuniya, and I saw Laura there. I recognized her by her hat. She was very pink-outfitted.
Tonight I went to the Mariners game with Jon and Mark after work. We walked over there around 6:30 and were on the totally wrong side of the stadium for Will Call so we walked around the stadium - the good part was that once we got there, I basically said hi, gave 'em my ID and credit card, and boom! we got tickets. Yay. We went in, found our seats, got food instead first, then were back in our seats for the beginning of the game. I sat between Mark and Jon which means I spent the whole game talking to Mark and trying to talk to Jon but he doesn't really talk much. BUT, it was a good game. We won 6-0 and Ryan Franklin pitched the whole game... I'm really glad for him because he's had such a set of lousy crappy games lately with no run support. (I'm not saying he's a great pitcher or anything but I don't think he's QUITE as bad as his record would suggest.) Ichiro made some AMAZING catches, including this one where it was bound to be a homer and he JUMPED up and snatched the ball for the catch :) They have a movie of it on the Mariners website. Ichiro made a TON of really cool catches which sort of made up for his unlucky batting. Olerud seems to be coming out of his slump with two hits and 4 RBIs, and Randy Winn hit a homer, which was exciting. Sadly they put Cirillo in and he did his usual mediocre-to-poor performance. Bloomquist was in as SS and had an error, which sucked, but other than that his fielding was pretty good.
Overall, except for the retarded guys behind us (WHY DOES SITTING IN SECTION 32x GUARANTEE WE WILL HAVE RETARDED GUYS BEHIND US?) it was a really cool game, and I'm glad they won both because we needed to beat the A's to maintain our lead over them, but also because it'd suck if the only Mariners game Mark and Jon ever attended was a losing one. I'm glad I got to drag Mark to a game at least once this summer though. Yeah. So we all bussed our respective ways home after the game and here I am wasting time online as usual.
Also, I went ahead and picked up a solo ticket to the July 30th game. Section 133, row 19, seat 9... it's like 19 rows behind home plate basically. Wheee!
