Vices

Unfortunately, I can't go into Phantom of the Attic (local gaming store a block from where I work) without spending at least $40-$50.

Fortunately, I only go there every few weeks.

Unfortunately, I saw at least $100 worth of things I want to buy.

Fortunately, I think Ralph has or will soon have most of those things.

Unfortunately, they had a copy of Zombies! in the display case.

Fortunately, it reminded me that buying lots of silly games can be a bad idea, and I just got books, a new dice bag, and some more dice. (So much for my idea to use the Power Puff Girls purse as a dice bag... I couldn't resist getting a real dice bag.)

Fortunately, we saw the D&D Clue game and the Simpsons Clue game, and thought "Damn, these are dumb." I also fortunately decided not to buy the new Forgotten Realms sourcebook. $40?!!?! Are they insane? I bought the 2nd edition Dark Elf handbook instead - I think I want to run a Dark Elf game sometime (or better, convince someone else to).

Unfortunately, I'm back at work.

Carl is fun to shop with. We sit there and make fun of all of the games in the store and then lament that we don't own copies of most of it. Oh, and we ran into Lori, which was also a Fortunately, I think.

Huh. you know, I was going to do a "Fortunately/Unfortunately" post yesterday, but decided not to, since I figured no one else read that book as a kid.

I'd be interested to hear what's on your list--I haven't been buying game stuff nearly as avidly this year as in years past.

Which book are we on? I read that in a Willard Espy book, but I imagine he borrowed it.

They re-released Hacker? Excellent! Now I can get a set and play!

I own a Hacker set ... an original one ... with the tokens never ever punched out of their cardstock sheets. I've never been able to bring myself to violate it.
