sleepy in seattle

Rargh, I had kinda thought I might go play DDR tonight. But when I got home from work I was so exhausted that I pretty much went upstairs and fell asleep for 2 hours. Eli got home in the meantime and he cooked dinner and we watched Major League after that, because it showed up with my Amazon order today. I still haven't listened to Poodle Hat. I want to be in the proper mood for it, and right now I'm still sluggish. Also, I'm almost done with Harry Potter book 4 - I've actually looped myself, being as I started at page 600something, read the end, came back to the beginning, and now I'm back past where I started at the end. I wonder when Book 5 will show up...

Anyway, so that was the evening. The day was at work, I had some meetings. I went to Uwajimaya to find a CD and instead I found a birthday present for Tanya. (Oh, it's past midnight, so I guess it's her birthday now.. happy birthday!) I was reeeeeeeally tired and absentminded at work today, it really sucked... I really didn't sleep much last night, like I fell asleep way after sunrise, and I had to get up at 8:30 so I'd be at work on time for my meetings. Hemant was out 'cause he felt sick and Guido is in Bolivia, so the team room was lonely after the team meeting. I was so absentminded I left my bag in US1, and didn't notice until I was like "shit, where's my cellphone? arrrarararrr" but at least I had my wallet and badge with me. Bleh.

Man, I hadn't heard "Most of All You" by Bill Medley or whoever in like... ten years. I used to love that song so much. I always associate it with Major League. Which in turn I associate with the last year my mom had season tickets to the Phillies... and watching baseball movies in the basement of our house with my brother... before my parents got divorced and all.

2 weeks till Texas! I'm so excited. They changed our plane flight so we have a stupid 4 hour layover in Dallas on the way there, though, which is going to suck ass. I'm kinda pissed because I chose this airline and that flight because it DIDN'T have a big layover. Anyway, sometime we should figure out what to do about the AA race. I should be at 100 by then :)

Another 83.85 hours and counting, here in the UK. 000001 (local time) on Saturday 21st June, where you are.

New flights?

Hey, what's your new flight info?

[identity profile] zml.livejournal.com 2003-06-17 11:23 am (UTC)(link)
Ugh! Did they give you no option to change the whole flight? You might try flying standby on an earlier flight, if they'll let you, too. DFW->AUS should be a milk run they do earlier as well.

Well, standby protocol with pickup on the other side goes like this:

1) Call pickup with flight info for flight being attempted
2) If you make the flight, pickup gets no call, pickup assumes person made it and schedules accordingly
3) Else, call receiver with next flight info

That's fine by me, at least. I think we can be flexible in the morning.

4 hours? Lame! It doesn't even take 4 hours to drive from Dallas to Austin (assuming normal traffic and a fully functional automobile).
