Narrows fun day!
Wow, what a great day :)
It started in a bit of confusion but worked out well. I drove to Bellevue and met up with Keevon and Tanya at Dairy Queen where we had yummmmmmy Blizzards. Then we scrunched into Keevon's truck to go down to Narrows. We had some fun conversations on the way down there. (I love geeking out with Kevin. And Tanya, I don't think we actually talked about DDR at all on the way there!) So we get there and Bill is around! He put 4 credits on DM8 for me but then some little kid (who didn't even know how to play and was just hitting the start button over and over again) took 3 of them before I even got to play after my DDR game. I hate kids. Anyway, Farren was there too and that was cool! and Amber got there a little bit after we did, and Edgars came down after work to hang out too. So we had a decent group.
Played a ton of DDR (6 new Heavy AA's, I'm up to 86!), and a decent amount of Drummania 8. Got to session with Edgars a lot and Keevon a little. Session! Hmm... so around 6:30, Amber and Tanya and Keevon decided they were going to see Finding Nemo... and I was kinda torn and indecisive because I didn't really want to get stuck at Narrows alone for a while, but I was really kinda sweaty and didn't want to sit in a movie theater. But we found a solution! Tanya and Keevon and Amber went to the movie, and Edgars and Farren and I hung around for a while and played a few more games and then we walked to IHOP.
While at IHOP the following notable things happened:
1) We *all* got the banana split pancakes

diskozombie who had come up to Seattle COMPLETELY RANDOMLY only to find that IZ was closed tonight (which I knew, of course...) oops. Doh! But he was in Issaquah and we were in Tacoma... :(
Anyway, umm... we went back to Narrows, played some more games, then everyone else came back from the movie or elsewhere (Charlie showed up too, to get Tanya). And people grabbed food somewhere and stuff and then we ended up leaving. Just as we left I got another call from Pete. ("So IZ is closed, we went to Tukwila... but it's closed for a gathering too... so we went to Gameworks... which is ALSO closed... WTF?") But we ended up not really doing anything about it because it was late and we were still in Tacoma. Keevon gave Amber a ride home and then we headed back up north. As usual it was a lot of fun to talk to him on the way home, and then when we got back to the lot in Bellevue, we went into Lanwerx for a quick game or two of DDR MAX2 since I'd never been there before. Whee! So Keevon and I played a set together, and then he played Demon Road, getting to like, halfway through Maxx. (And all I have to say about that is "Wow.")
Then I drove home, getting in around 1am. I'm exhausted but I really had a good day. I know I didn't really include any particularly joyful details or anything, it's not like any one thing made the day good, it was just overall a lot of fun, good people, good games, good places, good pancakes, etc.
