yay good day

Rawr, today at work I got the thingy working that I need to write about!!! So I'm all happy because I was expecting it to take much longer but it turns out that I didn't need to do a lot of the complicated codeline-bridging stuff. W00t! Unfortunately the last thing I did before leaving work was argue with Jon over what to do with revamping the team website... *sad* I don't really think doing fancy-schmancy graphics and javascript is a good idea no matter what - I want the engineers on the team to be able to update the website, plus I want to conform to the intranet mason standards. Because like... I spent so long in Intranet Tech developing and preaching these standards that if I let our team get away with not following them... Mike will beat me up!

Anyway, after work I got a bus home (Oh, I finished Harry Potter #1 on the bus... ordered #5 today and the two movies), a little later than planned, then drove over to Sushi Express in the U-district, where I had kaiten sushi with Edgars, Tanya, James, Keevon, and Steevon. I ate more plates than anyone because I am gratuitous like that. We kept fighting over who'd get which plates off the sushi train. Steve likes all the yummy stuff like egg and eel and so we kept faking him out and trying to take his plates.

Keevon and James and I had planned to get together for IIDX session tonight, so we and everyone else ended up coming over to my place after dinner. Charlie arrived to pick up Tanya and Steve... people hung out for a bit, but (and I'm sorry) I really wanted to get in gaming time with James before he leaves the country in two days, so... we played a bunch of Tetris Attack at long last and he is REALLY good! Although we had a 3-D game in PPL go for 9 minutes. OMG. I didn't know games could go that long :)

Then we played IIDX for like 4 hours until Keevon got so tired he couldn't see anymore. We played through 6th, 4th, 3rd, and 5th style. K+J played a little solo L7 stuff competing against each other. Keevon plays all one-handed which is really impressive to me - I totally play two-handed all the time. Anyway, our sessio was a lot of fun and we had some damn impressive scores - for example (I'm pretty sure I got the songs right - I took two digicam pics) on End of the Century Another, our score was 452/260/5/0/2 180k... and later Schlagwerk Another, 416/388/44/0/1 170k. That was fucked up. :) We got a bunch of A's on Anothers and we just beat a ton ton ton of songs and it was a lot of fun because it's always fun hanging out with James and Keevon. (For anyone who doesn't know, we play IIDX with the three of us splitting one controller and play insane hard songs.)

But now James goes back to Japan for three months! Doh... I'll have to find some other people on this side the lake to play DDR with. Hmm. Edgars left his cellphone here. Oops. And I still feel a little bad for blowing off people after dinner, but I mean... I can see you guys all summer. And infact I *want* to see you guys all summer! We should monkeyball sometime again...
