How I managed to not meet DDRJamzGilly

This morning on the bus to work I thought about how Nykkel said I should start carrying a memory card... so I decided to go get one. Went to the EB at Westlake during my lunch break... couldn't find memcards in the store, so I went to the counter and asked about it.

"I'm looking for a PS1 memory card... where are they?"
"Do you want a third-party or a real one?"
"I want one that I can stick in a DDR machine."
"Oh... yeah, you want a real one. Lemme see what we have. *rummages* Here's a clear one, used, for $9.99, is that okay?"
"Sure, sounds great."
"Yeah... I've got tons of memcards with edits all over them."
"Oh, cool!"
"The knockoff memcards often get stuck in the machine and stuff. *rings up* That'll be $10.87..."
"I've heard that too... *pays* Figure I should get a good one to be my dedicated DDR memcard."
"Ok. You need a bag for that?"
"Nah, that's ok. *grin* Thanks!"

About halfway through this conversation it occurred to me that the guy selling me the card was probably Gilly. When I got to the bus, looked at the receipt, noticed "Guillermo" as the sales name... I wanted to kick myself. I should have said something... gah, I'm retarded. And it would have been really easy to just say, "You're Gilly, aren't you?" during the conversation. But noooooo, I'm too slow on the uptake. Oh well.. I guess now that I know who he is, maybe if I ever have an excuse to buy anything from EB again, I'll say something. Yeah.

(For the uninformed: Gilly is one of the founders of Team Seattle, and the guy who started the DDR BBS I waste too much time on, and apparently used to be one of the best players in Seattle, and ran tournaments and stuff... but dropped off the face of the earth several months ago, or something.)
