Sunday: Sunday Lunch not Dinner... and heading home :(

Well, so all we really did today was lunch at the Meltons'.

Mike got up way early for church, and Eli and I got up around when he got back. Called Nick, but the timing was all wrong for his plane flight, so he wasn't going to lunch with us. *sad* We got ready to go, and picked up Carl, and headed out to Lori and Ralph's house. There was a big group for lunch... [personal profile] cellio and Dani were there too, and Ruth and Steve Morrisson, and Lori's sister was around (although she didn't eat or hang out with us that much). I took many many pictures of the kittens-now-cats (DAMN! Duke is really heavy! He's like 16 pounds of cat now!). Lunch was turkey sloppy joe sandwiches with rice pilaf, and was very tasty, and I got to be the sandwich-maker because I happened to sit in the happy sandwich-maker seat.

After eating, we went into the living room, where I finished reading some of Ralph's comic books, took more cat pictures, and eventually got everyone into a game of Beyond Balderdash. I usually hate Balderdash because Eli and other people totally beat me on words, but this wasn't so bad because you could do dates, people, acronyms, and movies, as well as just words. So I didn't do so badly! We called the game around 4pm so Lori could serve cheesecake and so we'd all get home at a reasonable time... the cheesecake was FABULOUS. I'd almost, but not entirely forgotten how awesome Lori's desserts are.

Meow. Anyway, Mike and Carl both needed to be places, so I drove them both home. I got to stop in and see Carl's apartment (he moved into it right around when I moved out of town, so I couldn't help him move except to give him boxes), which does indeed look like his old one with a bedroom added on, so he no longer has to sleep in the living room and can now invite people over. At least the clothesline still runs through it... some things will never change. :) I looked through his manga, but didn't see much I'm interested in reading, and I've still got plenty to read anyway, really. (Ha! I managed to not let him pay me back for the Hana Yori Dango manga, so now I've almost countered him ordering Love Song for me. Almost.) Since his timing was also wrecked by us stopping in, I offered him a ride to church... as he was getting out, we said goodbye, both saying at the exact same time "I'll see you. *pause* Sometime." I miss silly little things like that. Oh well.

I sort of wanted to stop by Wean to check email and use the bathroom, except we realized that we couldn't get in because my ID no longer works and Eli hadn't brought his. Doh! So I stopped in Scaife to use the bathroom and then we hit the road.

Things were pretty uneventful after that. Airport security wasn't bad, and there were no plane problems, and we ate ice cream in the airport, and I've now read through the first two Hitchhiker's Guide books. I watched most of MIB2 without sound, too, which was weird (though I've seen it with sound, so it wasn't too bad). Eli took some pictures of the lit-up cities on the ground. The plane was pretty empty where we were, so I could have stretched out along a whole aisle to nap, although I just napped on my seat and the one next to me instead. Got back to Seattle, got a shuttle to our car, drove home (25 mins from the airport, go Deanna 70mph!), and got frustrated with the digital camera. Eli eventually uploaded all the pics to his machine, and I burned them and brought them up to my machine... and I'm uploading them to dr4b.org, although there won't be a picture page for them until at least tomorrow night. I might post to point out a few at some point soon, though.
