donuts, ddr, drop out, dunno

today was better than yesterday. Well, I overslept, but it worked out ok because I ended up at the bus stop with Paul, so we talked on the bus. I don't remember much of the day; I did some work and I bought candies from Uwajimaya. Went home a little earlier than I should have... changed, drove to IZ. Played some DDR. Mostly sat around watching Team Seattle guys doing these really badass edits. One of the edits, a nutso Drop Out one, was claimed to be "if this isn't the first 12-footer, it's probably at least a hard 11-footer!" I was *really* shy tonight - I did figure out who at least 5-6 people were off the bboards, but I for some reason couldn't really make myself go up to them and say "hi, you're _____ right?" I suck. I'll try to be better at it next time I guess. One guy, Foy, was really nice to me, although I was utterly tongue-tied because I was pretty awed at his and Hinonaku's insane DDR skills. At the end of the evening I did talk to those two and a Charlie guy who I'd played a set with. Mostly I just felt really wimpy, because I so totally suck at DDR compared to everyone out here. So I was hungry, and despite knowing how bad it is for me, especially being in my current stomach-yucky condition, drove around until I found the Krispy Kreme, and got a dozen donuts. MMMM, Krispy Kreme makes everything better. However, I doubt we can finish a dozen donuts before they go bad, so if anyone wants to come help us eat them, you should.

I suck, because now that I have my computer set up AND network, I'm not getting anything done at home.

Well, I'd be glad to come over and eat one or two, but it's really not on my way from Boonsboro to Frederick.

And don't worry about be awed in comparison to a DDR player. They're just people, like anyone else. Ask them for advice or the like; it's always a good way to get to know folks!

Careful not to compliment people too much, though, unless you think they're doing well by their own standards. And sometimes people would rather watch someone else play than talk; usually-nice people have bad days too; etc.

I want to punch the next person who tells me how great I am at PIU when they have no idea how to play the game. "How do you know where to step? You're really good. Great job!" = INSTANT FREEZE-DRIED HEAT-AND-SERVE DEATH, when I'm at Dave & Buster's. Heck, last night I had a crowd and I didn't want one so I decided "hey, I'll play all the gay Christmas songs until everyone leaves!" So I did, and they did. :D

Repeat after me: Deanna does not suck.

Also, Krispy Kreme sounds great. Um, can you mail one priority next day to Austin?
