The 1991 Games Magazine article by Eric Albert claims he ran the hunt "the following January" after winning the 1987 hunt. You can find this article on the Hunt web site (I tried to link to it, but LJ decided my comment was spam because it contained a link). However, that said, that article has already been known to be wrong about dates due to the infamous error about the first hunt being in 1980 instead of 1981, which wasn't rectified in the hunt archives until our time as the archivists in 2009-2010.

Also, 13-040 sounds like about where we had to go to find the coin in 2009's Zyzzlvaria hunt. That was "the reactor core", which, having been there, I'm sure you'll agree was well chosen for that purpose! For those who weren't there, it's a narrow, slightly winding, dimly lit corridor between all kinds of machinery. We had to go single file down the last part of this corridor; good thing there were only about 20 of us.
