Is about all that's happened in the last 2 days besides feeling jetlagged and sleeping.
On Thursday, Mike and I watched the first 3 episodes of the latest season of Glee, not realizing that there have only been 4 aired. Whoops. Anyway, I'm not sure what I can say without being spoilery other than so far I like the music even though I'm not sold on all of the new characters. Or in other words, that Sugar character makes me want to slug her every time she opens her mouth, which is probably the point. Much like everyone else, I enjoyed the Ethel Merman mashup they did with that girl from the Glee Project. I don't like the phase Kurt is going through with his "EXTRACURRICULAR ALL THE THINGS!" worry for getting into college, but I like Blaine transferring to McKinley, though I was like "HEY WAIT WTF WASN'T BLAINE SUPPOSED TO BE A YEAR OLDER?"
The Mike Chang plot as always is a complete win, I'm really happy when he gets more plot time and it was also great to ACTUALLY HEAR HIM SING FOR REAL.
Today we went to see Moneyball, which I fell asleep for the final 30 minutes of. I dunno, I think that it was a good movie for people who haven't read the book and don't really know/care about baseball statistics, but I was disappointed in the angle they took on it, which was basically "Hey, signing Scott Hatteberg to replace Jason Giambi is a good way to win 20 consecutive games!" rather than "Looking at numbers instead of only at bodies may help you figure out a good way to evaluate players, and OBTW having a draft with 7 first-round picks is insane". I think the way they did some of the stuff was pretty good, and I did like most of the portrayals of the people in the story, but some of the facts were a little bit off and the lack of the draft made me sad. A combination of jet lag plus "Dude, I lived through these games at the time" made me just sort of drift off for the ending part.
We walked around Alderwood for a while (that's where we saw the movie) and went to this Blazing Onions Burger place there for dinner, where I had a burger that was pretty good. It's a sports bar so there's a ton of TVs, and at first we thought one of the TVs was broken but it turns out it's just in 3-D. Whee.
I'm awake at 7am because it's hard to sleep through the night yet, plus I was up watching the playoffs in Japan both of these evenings. Softbank won tonight so that's over, but the Dragons are up 3-2 games on the Swallows after winning tonight so there's another one tomorrow.
