weekend
So, Saturday was a day of a whole lot of stuff. We got up relatively on time, and went to the bagel place for lunch. There was some kind of bike race going on, and the bagel place was crowded; these may or may not be related things. We bought a dozen pretzel bagels to bring to RPG.
Naturally, Carl also brought cupcakes. We probably should have expected that.
My group was just me and Carl and Konstantin this time, since Zach is out of town. I played my character slightly more assertively but still within the way I imagine her to be. It SAYS I have an aversion to violence as a character limitation, so if that means I run away from fights, so be it. Konstantin is playing a cat and Carl is playing a werewolf, so we have things where I'm walking "my dog" and have a cat standing on my shoulder. That's got to be weird. At least we got more plot moving this time than last time. I have a feeling Django gave us a pretty complicated mission compared to the other group's.
After that we played two games of Seven Wonders because we had to waste a few hours before going to dinner for Carl's birthday -- we had reservations at the Melting Pot in Bellevue at 7:30pm. So, two games. I didn't win either, didn't do poorly either. Dave won one of them with like 70 points, he said that he actually took a cue from me to try to get a balanced board with some points in every category. He was sitting next to me and managed to get a lot more blue cards than I did. :P
So, dinner was fondue! We had to shift people around a few times -- first Mike and Lu and I wanted the Swiss cheese mix and Konstantin and Django and Carl had the Wisconsin mix. Dinner was all the same pot, just coq au vin, and everyone ordered individual meals. But for dessert, Django and Kon and I wanted milk chocolate, and the other three wanted dark, so we shifted around again. (Our side got Turtle Flambe. Lots of fire!)
It's surprising how totally stuffed you can get on fondue! It's only bits and pieces at a time but they sure add up.
Either way, it was good, I'm glad we went. Although the check was QUITE expensive, like $80 per person once we factored in covering Carl for his birthday.
Afterwards we came home and had food coma. Yay.
Let's see, Sunday... we woke up late and walked to the Sammamish Cafe again for lunch, getting there like 2:30ish. I had a club sandwich which was huge and tasty! And sweet potato fries. Only thing is that it was a lot of food, and we had plans to get dinner with Carl later on at ToI. I dunno. We kinda wasted the afternoon (ok, I played PP among other things) and then went to Ballard to get Carl and all. ToI was great, I drank lots and lots of chai, and was happy. Mike managed to eat pakora and not die, and I had chicken tikka masala.
Afterwards we played Tigris & Euphrates for old times' sake. Despite how usually Carl and I fight and let the 3rd player win, this time Carl and Mike fought and I won pretty soundly (my min was 11 or so. I never built a monument myself though did leech blue points from the one Mike had built).
Shrug.
