Weekend
Let's see. Friday night after school I went to Ueno to print some photos and to eat dinner. I chose Heiroku Sushi there, because it is better than in Akabane. Other than a slight annoyance when I came in and the staff seemed to see fit to "help" me understand what to drink -- the waitress tried to tell me in English to put a teabag in when she saw me filling my cup with hot water, to which I indignantly replied, もう入ってるの, and then they left me alone after that. But the sushi was good. They get a lot more foot traffic and thus things cycle a lot faster. I went through some arcades after that and played Pop'n in this one arcade that is mostly pachinko but has a Pop'n machine in the back that is largely unused most of the time, and it was great until some dude saw fit to come put out a cigarette RIGHT next to me, and my eyes started tearing up. Bleh.
Saturday was Team 52 (one of my Fighters groups)'s bounenkai, or year-end party. We had two parts, karaoke in the afternoon and yakiniku in the evening, in Nippori. Karaoke was me, the Shinozawas, Tsuji, Tsuyoshi, Akemi, Kaori, Bunko, Tomochan, and Mayumi. We spent 3 hours there and what's silly is that basically, Tsuyoshi and me and Tsuji were doing most of the singing, the Shinozawas sang a few things and Akemi did a few too (she's from Osaka so she did some Osaka-related stuff). But the latter four women literally never picked up the microphone at all. Of course, it only ended up costing 1000 yen per person in the end thanks to daytime and some big group deal that Tsuyoshi got, so I guess it's not like they're out a lot of money, but it seems silly to sit at karaoke for 3 hours and not sing anything! We mostly sang baseball-related stuff, even if that means like, players' at-bat songs and whatnot. I did "Bad Day" for everyone since it's Kaneko's song... and Tsuji made me sing "Livin' On A Prayer" with him since it's Itoi's song, but in reality he mostly sang and I was just there on the weaker mic as backup. (He was worried he couldn't manage the English.) It turns out that I had forgotten and Tsuji wasn't with us when we did karaoke in Sendai, but it was Watanabe-san that time. Watanabe couldn't make it for this party, which was a shame.
After that we adjourned to Yakiniku Erika, the restaurant run by Hichori Morimoto's parents. I would usually say "by our centerfielder Hichori" except that Hichori became a free agent this year and on December 1st he signed a contract with the Yokohama Baystars :( Actually, on this same Saturday he had his Baystars unveiling but rather than a boring press conference, he dressed up as Ramenman and performed stunts at Yokohama's Chinatown, because, well, that's Hichori.
It was the 10 of us from karaoke plus Kon-chan and her husband, and Taicho and his... "driver"? I am not sure if it's his wife or a friend or what. So a total of only 14 people. The funny part is that there was another party going on in the back of the restaurant... a year-end party with an Orix ouendan! Kaori and Akemi live in Osaka and also follow the Buffaloes, and Taicho is just nuts, so the three of them started doing Orix cheers to try to start up some kind of friendly cheer exchange, and two of the leaders of their group came over to talk to us for a while. Between the two groups we took up pretty much the entire restaurant, actually, but as far as I can tell, only one other pair of customers came in during that time, and they seemed pretty familiar with the Morimotos, as they sat down with Hichori's mom at the front table.
We ate a whole ton of yakiniku and it was really good, and people drank a lot. I personally didn't drink any alcohol but this time we just all paid a flat 4000 yen for the party regardless of alcohol, so.
Towards the end of the evening I went to talk to Hichori's dad and got a picture with him, wearing my old Takuro Ishii Baystars #5 jersey... Hichori got #5 with the Baystars, so from the front it looks like a Hichori jersey but from the back, clearly not. I joked that I would erase the "T. Ishii" and put "Hichori" on there.

The place is still full of Fighters stuff. I asked whether they'd be getting rid of it all and the answer was something to the effect of "Well, we're not going to be putting up any more Fighters stuff, and we probably will start to put up Baystars stuff as it exists, but the stuff that's here now won't go away until it needs to."
It was a bit weird because Konta is gone so Team 52 really has no meaning the same way anymore... and a lot of other players are gone too... so there was a lot of "how many of our uniforms are still valid?" going on. Infact, Tsuyoshi asked people to bring uniforms with them during karaoke, so most of us did... and almost everyone brought something that was not valid. I had my Takuro jersey, Tsuyoshi had a Baystars Terahara (just got traded), Akemi had a Rakuten Watanabe (just got traded), etc. I also brought my Carp Saitoh jersey as a joke and my normal Fighters one too. People talked about Yuki Saitoh a lot and I'm like "I wish I hadn't spent 4 years hating Waseda... sorry... maybe I will have to transfer to Yokohama so I can cheer Hichori and my Kagami..."
But yeah, not a bad time overall. I still get sort of nervous/confused when I am in big groups of Japanese people, especially for like, an entire day on end, and it doesn't help that some people in our group like Tsuyoshi are still fairly rude to me, but whatever.
Sunday, I didn't really have much of a plan, so I decided to go play volleyball in the evening with Intervoll, and before that, my only ideas were to do laundry and talk to Mike. Well, and eat lunch. So for lunch, I went to Coco Ichibanya in Jujo because it's a nice bike ride from my house, and I had really good tonkotsu curry. On the way home I decided to ride around a bit more and went to Teikyo High School, where the baseball club was having practice... but I didn't have a single camera with me, not even my little one! Oops. So I rode by... and rode home and timed it. 14 minutes from the Teikyo baseball field to my house. Whee.
Then yeah, talked to Mike on Skype and did laundry.
Volleyball was pretty good, we only had 3 women and 9 guys, but for the most part they were all the nice people who aren't so annoying and serious and cutthroat, so I could relax and play. It's a little funny but after 3 years I still don't know most of the people's names... I briefly thought about asking, and then thought it would just seem kind of strange, you know?
So yeah, I guess it was a decent weekend. But the entire "omg finishing everything up" stuff is taking a toll on my soul, you could say.

Umm, I'd translate that as, "I'm already in." :)
Ideally, you should have said もう入れたよ.

If it was もう入ってる, though, then that's correct usage, so you're good. :)
