Wow, I forgot to write the last few days
So when last I wrote I was going back to work on Thursday.
Thursday was Thanksgiving. Mike and I met up after work and went and got yakiniku, which is not particularly Thanksgiving-like at all. Then we walked around Akabane a little, I showed him the Sports Authority and stuff like that, and we came home.
Friday was a decent day at school and after work we met up in Akabane station, but went to Ikebukuro for the evening. Wandered Sunshine Road a little and then went to the Sunshine City mall. I got a ton of mini-Mentos from the machine at Toys'R'Us and then after that we got Mexican food for dinner at El Torito, where they seem to have eliminated their combo meals, which kinda sucks, but they had some new stuff on the menu that looked good, and I had enchiladas, which were SMALL but tasty. Shrug.
Wandered around Namjatown after that, which I hadn't done in quite a while. Their current featured thing seems to be Bleach, but since I'm anime illiterate it was lost on me. Still, we had ice cream at Ice Cream City and did some wandering and whatnot and looked through all the random stuff there. I also showed Mike some of the other arcades in the area, and we hung out a bit at the arcade with the big Bemani area, with the bowling and darts and billiards too, that I dunno the name of. We did purikura, which I am mercifully not going to post.
Hmm...
Today, we went to Shinjuku and got okonomiyaki for lunch, and then after that, we walked from Shinjuku to Akihabara, since I kept saying I wanted to do that but never had. I think the route we took was about 4-5 miles, we kinda took Yasukuni-dori most of the way... we passed the huge defense compound, and also Chuo and Hosei universities, and eventually ended up in Jimbocho, where we stopped for an hour or so and read stuff and I bought a JLPT study book (but the REAL tests from July are simply not out) with some practice tests.
We got dinner at the Kanda Grill on the 8th floor of Yodobashi. It was good.
We spent the evening at home. I'm trying to go through stuff to make Mike take back to the US to lighten the load of what I'll have to ship later.
My legs hurt a lot less than I thought they would after walking so much. Maybe it'll be worse tomorrow.
I think that sums everything up for the last few days.
