off to the airport in a little bit
Mike took work off Monday to hang out with me. We went to Funtasia and played a round of mini-golf since Mike had said we should do that for a while. The course isn't great but I guess it's not bad either. I'm more used to New Jersey beach boardwalk ones from my childhood where every hole has a colorful moving obstacle, and this had very little of that and just a bunch of different shaped grounds, 9 holes indoor, 9 outdoor. Mike got four holes-in-one and I only got 1, but I also never had a hole worse than 4 strokes and he had a few 5's and 6's, so overall I beat him by two points, 48-50 where par was 40. Whee.
After that we did batting cages. The cage is supposed to give 12 balls per game, I was getting 14ish last week, but this time we were getting 9, so I asked a guy on staff and he gave us a bunch of free games to make up for it. I did slow-pitch softball, so did Mike but he did one round of slow-pitch baseball and found out that "slow" is relative.
We came home and spent the evening hanging out. It was like 90-something degrees outside, so very lethargic even inside the house; I watched Koshien a bit, we did laundry and stuff like that, and played some XBox. Yesterday we re-watched Up, which was good (I wish they'd do a sequel or another short film with just Dug in it).
It's been a good 3 weeks here. I know I'll be happy to be back in Japan and doing stuff there again, but I have been happy here too. It's tough going forward, sometimes.
