Thursday

You know, I just came to the astounding realization that my 9th-graders are the same age (14-15) as some of the people were that I used to play DDR with when I first moved to Seattle.

That is really weird.

Um, anyway, tonight I had my penultimate Japanese class. I'm going to fail the N2 exam, I am pretty sure -- but on the other hand I'm also thinking I would like to continue taking Japanese classes once I get back to Japan after summer vacation. I'm not a very good student, but I think it is good for me to go to a class once per week, and Japanese classes are hella cheap here compared to in Seattle, that's for sure.

I finally replaced my iPod headphones tonight, they broke a week or three ago, that is, the speaker in one ear keeps popping out of the thingy and I was worried the wire would snap one of these days. So I stopped in at Yokado for a new pair. OMG it's nuts, the new headphones have those "insert into your ears" extensions -- while this sucks in the ear that was swollen a few weeks ago but is now mostly fine, in the other ear it is amazing how clear the sound is with the extensions, since it blocks outside noise. Holy carp.

I got the headphones because I'm heading to Niigata for the weekend to see a baseball stadium. I have a reservation in a hotel in Niigata City but no train ticket yet, AND no real idea yet for what I will do Sunday -- thoughts are to go to Toyama or Kanazawa. This may be my most haphazard unplanned baseball journey yet. But either way I figure I will have a lot of train time, thus iPod time.

Also, bug bite season has started. This sucks. I wondered why my feet were itchy today and sure enough I found two small black bugs crawling around in my socks. I absolutely fucking HATE that. No idea how they got in, I've been careful this year. So I threw out those socks and bugsprayed my shoes and bugrepellanted my legs before I did laundry and all tonight. Ugh. Not happy. Only a few bites so far but these things always spread... I guess I'll have to get some bug itch cream again too. Sigh.
