Dude

Japanese class tonight, we took a sample 2-kyuu test and I actually didn't totally fail for once. I got like 73% on the listening, and around 70% on the kanji/vocab section -- mostly because I aced the kanji part with 35/40 correct.

On the other hand there was no reading section, which is my weakest spot :(

One of my classmates is pissed off at another one of my classmates and I can't really do anything and I don't want to get involved. It's kind of annoying.

I ran into a few of my 8th-graders on the way to the station today. They had one bike among 3 people for some reason, and a big plastic bag with goldfish swimming around in it in the bike basket. I'm not quite sure what was going on but two of them are the boys who always talk about fishing (one of them wrote in his "future" paper today how his dream is to move to Hokkaido and work for a fishing company and own a huge boat). You can't use goldfish as bait, can you?

And speaking of fish, I got kaitensushi for dinner -- and while I was there, four gaijin girls came in and ended up sitting next to me. It was really freaking weird listening to them, and also annoying because everyone figured I must be with them (and must obviously want to talk to them since hey, all gaijin are alike). Gah.

Hmm... I'm trying to decide if and what baseball jerseys to get with kanji on them, while I'm still in Japan. I figure that it'd be amusing to have another distinctly Japanese jersey or two. My top thoughts are either Hiroki Ueno on Lotte, or Yuki Takamori on Yokohama, or Mikinori Katoh on Yakult... or maybe a Morino one for Chunichi, or maybe another Fighters one, like Kaneko or Hichori. I dunno. Ideally I'd just wait until Kagami gets drafted and get one of whatever team he ends up on, but I'm not sure that'll be possible with timing.

I think you need a Morino jersey, with "Dragonbutt" in katakana on the back!
