gee, thanks

5pm, the doctor's receptionist calls back just saying "Oh, it's probably a virus. If you are still sick in 2-3 days come in."

I'm like "I've *BEEN* sick for 2-3 days."

She's like "We know. There's a lot of this going around. Rest and drink juice a lot and you'll probly be over it soon."

"Can I keep taking DayQuil or whatever?"

"Yeah, Dayquil, tylenol, whatever, go ahead."

"Even though it says after 2 days to stop taking it and call a doctor...?"

"Yes."

I guess it doesn't help that I got over a 50-minute bout of really painful heartburn right before she called. You know, I've had pain before, but 50 minutes of heartburn when you are already sick is one of the worst things ever. It made the throat pain seem piddly in comparison. I couldn't lie down because the heartburn got worse, I couldn't stand up because I was all dizzy... I couldn't even breathe for a bit. I was on the verge of throwing up, and was even lying down on the bed with my head over the side of it over a trashcan, expecting to throw up. And all of a sudden it stopped hurting. I stayed in the same position for about five minutes still before believing it was over and I could move again. Ugh. I hope I never have that again. Ugh ugh ugh.

(Yeah, I know, it's not the worst thing in the world. It sure seemed like it. Bear with me.)

You know, if the doctor's office had called back at 11am to tell me "gee, it's a virus", I think I would have been much happier today.
